To be able to see the board, and the book in front of you, is pretty fundamental when starting school and learning to read. Every grade one who enters one of our schools gets a Mullers eye screening. If it is discovered that the child has an issue that needs sorting, Mullers provides the eye care for them. The service continues throughout their junior schooling.
Andrew from Mullers handed over glasses to the 2012 Prestwich St children on Friday last week. Andrew relayed how one of the girls he helped was so happy to receive her glasses that as he reached down to adjust them for her, she would not let them off the bridge of her nose. She was worried he was taking them away from her! He said it was possibly one of the most emotional moments of his professional life. I think at that moment he really understood the power of the work he is doing. We want to thank all at Mullers for the extra- ordinary support and care that they are giving our children.
