Katy joined us through a volunteer programme called Cross Cultural Solutions, and her email to Carrie was so heartfelt that I just had to include it on the blog.
'Hi Carrie,
I just returned to the UK after 4 weeks volunteering at the Shine Centre in Observatory Junior School. I have to say they were some of the best 4 weeks of my life - the children taught me so much and it was an absolute pleasure to spend time with them assisting with language and literacy development.
Thank you so much for the opportunity and best of luck with the Shine Centre for the future - it is an amazing project which I think is really making a difference to those childrens' lives.
